Spring Gardening & Planting at Piazza Perugia (Julia Lee's Park)

Friday, 9 May 2025 9:30am -1:30pm

Join other members for a morning of gardening and planting at Piazza Perugia (aka Julian Lee Park) . Located in the Madison Valley neighborhood of Seattle, Piazza Perugia is an outward symbol to our fellow community members of our city's special connection to the city and people of Perugia. As a reflection of our stewardship, and to enhance the beauty of the park, we are seeking 5-6 volunteers to assist with prep and planting of new plants. Thanks to the efforts of member Karen Rosatti, the City of Seattle Parks & Rec will be supplying us with plants selected for park planting. The only thing we need now is YOU!

When: Friday, May 9th; 9:30AM - 1:30PM

Where: Piazza Perugia (Julia Lee's Park)

What to wear/bring: comfortable clothes/shoes appropriate for a few hours of gardening (i.e. okay to get sweaty and dirty in), gardening gloves, knee pads or foam pad, drinking water, sunscreen, sun hat. If you have some favorite gardening toos appropriate for digging / prepping beds for planting (hoe, spade, rake, etc) please bring those along. If you are taking public transit or don't have tools, don't worry we'll have some on hand.

Please note: This work will require bending, kneeling, digging, raking along with some light lifting of plants, supplies and tools. If you are unable to perform these tasks, but would still like to help, we'd weclome one or two volunteers to provide water/cold drinks and/or snacks to keep everyone nourished and hydrated.
